State Board of Sanitarians
The WV Board of Registration of Sanitarians has been in existence since the
early 1960’s and became a Chapter 30 Board pursuant to West Virginia State
Code, Chapter 30, Article 17, effective July 1, 1992. The Board’s
name was changed to the State Board of Sanitarians. The Board is made
up of seven members, four currently employed as a Registered Sanitarian,
one currently employed as a Sanitarian, and two citizen members not

Governor and serve a five-year term. Each year the members select
from a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson.
The duties of the Board include reviewing candidates' applications for

experience requirements. In order to obtain a new or renewal
Registration, an applicant must complete an application which includes a Child Support Obligation
Disclosure form (available below) in accordance with West Virginia Code
